Good Friday

It was Good Friday yesterday, the beginning of Easter and which also coincides with the holy month of Ramzan. In the Christian belief system, Jesus’s death at the cross was a victory that offered salvation for the sins of his followers. It was his kindness and magnanimity in the face of adversity that won the day and galvanized an entire era of leadership by example. It opened up a new means of bridges and forgiveness, tolerance and patience, of inclusion and magnanimity. And of sacrifice. The same spirit of life and living the holy month of Ramzan asks Muslims to follow. And in the fond hope that may the teachings of these great masters, the flowers that blossomed amongst us, are revived in the polarised world we live in.
