The important lesson that he leaves us is that right will triumph over might in the end—that the purifying fire of sacrifice demands courage and character. It also demands magnanimity, selflessness, and the majestic spirit to listen and debate another viewpoint, no matter how far it is from our own. In the end, when the debate is over, it tells us to stay true to our moral compass, regardless of where the chips may fall.
