Dewalghat Fort, a three hundred-year old proud but crumbling structure in a village two hours from Aurangabad in India. A family has lived there for two and a half centuries surrounded by legends of mystics, warriors and country squires. The fort has a larger than life presence in the small village and has witnessed stories of six generations of the same family. They are the legends of Dewalghat.
Dewalghat Diaries are the musings of a member of the Dewalghat family, who was born and grew up on the other side of the border. With an “idea-image” of home, the writer narrates oral histories, inherited memories and reflections of his environment and observations on society and culture.
