Most of us perceive Picasso’s work through his cubist lens and much of his African-inspired art has taken center stage. Take a look below at the broader, earlier pallet of the most influential artist of the 20th century, some of the works he completed when he was not even 15 years old!

These are housed in one of the lesser-known delights of Barcelona, the Picasso Museum in the historic Born area of the city. The museum houses a large number of Picasso’s earliest works and many elements of his initial explorations and transitionary periods. The extraordinary artistic talent in his early years, painting in a naturalistic manner through his childhood and adolescence is on display in this permanent collection. It is simply fabulous.
