Homage or Hautiness?

A week-long trip to the Cotswolds was a much-needed break from the relentless zoom calls that have taken a life of their own. Cotswolds is the quintessential English countryside, arguably the most scenic in the world, and proclaimed by the UK Government as an AOESB (area of extraordinary scenic beauty). Those of you ever in London must spend a couple of days there, just a two-hour drive away.

Nestled in the outskirts of one quaint village, is Sezincote House (pronounced “Season Court” as the Brits would have it) the fantasy of an East India Company Officer who made a lot of money in the Bengal in the 18th century and returned to build this mansion inspired by India he saw. I will leave it to you to decide whether this is a homage or haughtiness.
